KaderKita
Overview
KaderKita is a mobile app developed in collaboration between PATH, Somia, and RGB, funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, to enhance healthcare access in rural areas through innovative digital solutions. It enables community health workers to record and manage health data, even without an internet connection. With offline capabilities, KaderKita ensures that data can be stored and synchronized once connectivity is available, making it a reliable tool for improving public health in remote locations.
Results
- 80% reduction in paper-based data collection, improving efficiency.
- Significant time savings for health workers in recording and accessing patient data.
- Positive user feedback

Behind the project
In a remote village deep in Papua, where internet access is scarce and paper-based records slow down healthcare services, a team of dedicated health workers gathered to test a new solution (KaderKita). Designed to revolutionize health data collection in rural areas, the app provided offline capabilities, allowing healthcare workers to record, store, and later sync patient data without needing a constant internet connection.
As the pilot program rolled out, community health workers embraced the app with enthusiasm. For years, they had relied on handwritten notes, often leading to lost records and delayed treatments. Now, with KaderKita, they could quickly log medical histories, update treatments, and tag locations—all from their mobile devices.
With the success of the pilot in Papua, the project team is now refining KaderKita based on real-world feedback. Future updates will include real-time analytics, multilingual support, and expanded interoperability with national health systems, ensuring more communities benefit from this innovation.
The journey has just begun, but one thing is clear—KaderKita is bridging the gap in rural healthcare, one digital record at a time.
What's next
- Enhance offline capabilities to support more complex health data collection.
- Integrate real-time data analytics for better decision-making by health workers.
- Develop multilingual support to improve accessibility for diverse communities.
